South Market: Event Safety Protocol
All Venues
COVID-19 Safety:
As we adjust to the global impact of COVID-19, rest assured that we are committed to ensuring the health, safety and well-being of our valued exhibitors, our customers, our employees, our suppliers and all stakeholders, including the staff at the venues where we host our events.
The COVID-19 pandemic has required that we review our service and support to all persons involved, including strong emphasis on protecting their health and safety. To keep our operations and environment safe, we have implemented measures based on the guidelines outlined by the Ministry of Health (MOH) and the World Health Organization (WHO), as we strive to protect all parties involved.
Preventive Measures:
- Face masks must be worn whilst at the venues where the South Market is hosted. This applies to the South Market team, our exhibitors and customers.
- For booth set up on the morning of the event we will be using a reduced staff (5 members) to set up our booths.
- Booths (tables, chairs & tablecloths) will be sanitized both before and after final setup to provide a sterile environment before they are utilized by exhibitors.
- Exhibitors must provide hand sanitizer to all customers who visit their booths. Please ensure customers sanitize their hands before touching any of your products.
- Exhibitors are also required to sanitize their hands, any handled products and their LINX machines after each customer interaction.
- Customers and exhibitors will be reminded to adhere to each venue’s safety protocol which includes the wearing of masks, washing of hands and/or using hand sanitizer before entering the venues, via the hand sanitization stations provided.
- The South Market team will work diligently to limit the number of persons gathering at any of the booths and to facilitate strict social distancing. We will provide temporary markers which will be placed six feet from booths if required.
- There will be a reduced number of exhibitors at our events. This is to allow greater physical distancing between exhibitors and to provide additional walking space for customers.
- Exhibitors are asked to keep the persons selling at their table to a minimum of two.
- Our team will monitor crowd gatherings and customer flow between the aisles. If needed, we will convert some walkways to one-ways to avoid overcrowding. A main entrance point will be utilized so that we can manage the number of customers entering the South Market.
- All our ads, email and marketing material, whilst encouraging customers to come out and shop with peace of mind, will also be geared towards effectively reminding them to practice good hygiene, such as frequent hand washing & no handshaking.
- Exhibitors feeling ill will be advised to stay at home. On event day any exhibitor displaying any flu-like symptoms will be asked to return home immediately.
- Most of our exhibitors purchase lunch at the venues and as such we would remind them that they can utilize the pick-up and go service or even calling ahead to place their orders to avoid crowding.
- Exhibitors are encouraged to display COVID-19 safety reminders for customers on their tables reminding them to practice good hygiene when at your table.
- Regular announcements will be made via our audio setup reminding shoppers to abide by the precautionary measures outlined by the Ministry of Health for protecting themselves and their families against the spread of COVID-19.
- The South Market team agrees to follow any guidance, instruction or suggestions by the Management and Staff at the various venues we operate. Additionally, on the day of event we will liaise closely with the security guards to ensure that there are no breaches of the venue’s safety protocols.
Monitoring and Evaluation:
The South Market will continue to monitor guidelines provided by the health authorities and the government of Trinidad & Tobago. Our safety protocol will be continuously evaluated and updated based on any new guidelines or stipulations. This is to ensure the strict adherence to these guidelines as this is critical to the continued mitigation of the risks associated with COVID-19.
