Divali Mela

T&T’s Divali Mela is a cultural, family-oriented event to help our people celebrate the ‘Festival of Lights’ with gaiety and enthusiasm, right here in our southern city of San Fernando. Visitors to this event would experience a feast of Indian shopping, arts and crafts, tantalising Indian cuisine and live entertainment. This annual cultural extravaganza provides a wonderful occasion for citizens to enjoy three (3) days of culture, fun & festivity.

The celebration and spirit of Divali is truly universal and our annual Diwali Mela serves a very important role in bringing our communities together, sharing the greetings of the festival, bonding with cultural roots and acquainting our children to the rich culture and heritage of T&T. This ‘mela’ is going to be a destination event and recognized on T&T’s cultural calendar.

At this event we will be showcasing Indian traditions, culture, festive activities and celebrating the joyous festivities of Divali. There’ll also be fun-filled activities for kids and grownups, cultural performances and food stalls offering tasty delicacies and sweets. A cultural expo will also be part of this event showcasing local artisans and exhibiting artistic products such as handicrafts, trinkets, fashion, jewellery, décor, unique gifts, fascinating treasures & so much more.

This highly anticipated event takes place at the internationally designed and cultural hub, the Southern Academy for the Performing Arts (S.A.P.A). With more than 40 booths for shopping, an exquisite food festival section and ongoing daily activities throughout this mela, there is no doubt that this event will have hundreds of visitors over this 3-day period.  We encourage you to be part of this festivity showcasing your products or services. Food Festival Booths (under Tents)
The Food Festival booths are under tents and ideally located between the parking lot and the indoor area. Anyone attending the event would be walking in front of this food section. It is also highly visible from the roadway and would be well advertised. Cooking is allowed in this area. A food tent can be shared with another food vendor if you wish, however you will be responsible for sourcing this vendor.

Tent Dimensions: One 20’x20’ tent with seating space for customers.
Booth Area: 400 sq. feet
Exhibitor Equipment: 1 rectangular 6ft table & 2 chairs
Customer Seating Equipment: One 6 ft table with 6 chairs
Cost: $1000 per tent
